    Alma Mater
    2010
    Hakataramea Valley

Our Alma Mater is a field blend of Pinot Gris, Riesling and Gewurztraminer from the Riverside vineyard in the Hakataramea Valley. The Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer were handpicked and fermented together; then a portion racked to old barrels with regular lees stirring. The Riesling portion was handpicked and fermented separately. The Riesling was then carefully blended back to obtain a wine of finesse and structure.

Silky, seamless, and with an appealing, gentle citrus finish, the wine displays a rare elegance, smoothness and structure.
